Üritus toimub inglise keeles!

Tule õpi, kuidas aed- ja köögivilju edukalt purki pista ning valmistada maitsvaid ja tervislikke hoidiseid! Töötoas õpime tundma hoidiste loomise kunsti, tutvume elementaarsete marineerimis- ja fermenteerimispraktikatega ja saame valmistada ka eksootilisemaid hoidised, nagu kimchi. Igaüks läheb koju 1-2 purgiga, mis ei aita ainult järgmist talve üle elada, vaid sobivad ka isikupäraseks jõulukingituseks!

Hoidiste tooraineks on suures osas päästetud toit! Foodsharing Tartu aitab meil anda uue otstarbe köögiviljadele, mis oleksid muidu prügimäele sattunud. Külaline Toidu- ja Fermentatsioonitehnoloogia (TFTAK) arenduskeskusest selgitab fermenteerimise olemust ja fermenteeritud toitude kasulikkust meie organismile.

Are you looking for a fun and informative way to spend your evening? If so, we invite you to join us for Jar It!, a canning workshop, on April 25th at 19.00! Come and learn how to prepare tasty and healthy jars full of marinated and fermented vegetables – be it pickles, sauerkraut, or something exotic like kimchi. At the end of the workshop, you’ll become the proud parent of one or two jars of your very own fermented goodies!

For the event, we’ve partnered up with Foodsharing Tartu! They are committed to saving food that would otherwise go to waste and will provide us with the ingredients for our canning workshop. Moreover, we have a special guest from the Center of Food and Fermentation Technologies (TFTAK), a research organization that develops innovative solutions for the food and biotechnology industry. Our guest speaker will give us a fascinating lecture on the fermentation process, and explain how fermented foods are great for our health.
